Puppeteer 

Empathy Jack

Mark Description

"They turned everyone against me, my friends, my family and as the nail in the coffin, they turned my own body against me."

Overview

The Puppeteer is one of the more sinister of the Jacks and relies on using their empathy to learn about others and then uses this knowledge to tear them apart. The strive on severing the connections between the Mark and their occupants before taking the occupants for themself. The experience they gain throughout dreams eventually allows them to use these abilities on other Jacks.

The Puppeteer can take control of occupants that don't have a master.

Gain control of any Detached occupant at any time, the hostility scale increases by 1 every time this occurs. These are your puppets. The Puppets cannot do things that cause direct harm to itself or others. You can control a number of occupants equal to your level.

The occupant becomes disconnected from the Mark or it's controller and stops doing anything.

The Puppeteer imparts their own influence onto their puppets.

Puppets have an additional Trait chosen by you. additionally, remove all conditions from an occupant when it becomes a puppet.

Traits are behaviours, abilities, benefits or disadvantages that occupants and creatures have.

The Puppeteer holds stronger control over their puppets.

Puppets may cause direct harm and fight for youAdditionally, puppets now have the same Æthers as the Puppeteer.

The Puppeteer imparts their weapons training onto their puppets.

Puppets have variations of the Puppeteers weapon. They have the same augments but can have different sizes. 

The Puppeteer has learned to puppet anyone. 

Puppet any Fugued, Dissociated or Catatonic Jacks or Auras. They remain a puppet for the length of that condition. Additionally, double the number of puppets that can be controlled. 

Mental and empathy actions cannot be taken such as dream weaving and all abilities not reliant of the body. Stacks. Fades.

The Jacks movement, attacks, abilities and decisive rolls are made by the GM or at random.

Cannot do anything. Stacks. Fades.

Level 2 - Manipulate

Level 3 - Explosive Puppet

Level 4 - Rip

Level 5 - Restring

Sever the connection between an Occupant and the Mark, or a Jack from their pilot.

Apply Detached to a nearby occupant. Or apply Fugued to a Jack or Aura. 

The occupant becomes disconnected from the Mark or it's controller and stops doing anything.

Chaos Effect

Sever another connection.

Apply Detached to another nearby occupant. Or Apply Fugued to another nearby Jack or Aura

Order Effect

The connection was weak and easy to sever. 

Becomes a Quick ability.

Quick abilities can be used as an extra ability each round. Only one quick ability can be used per round.

The Puppeteer can control a body disregarding everything else trying to control it for a short time.

Take control of any target for one round. The target can do anything they would usually be able to do in a round regardless of any conditions on them. Targeting an Occupant or Aura Increase the hostility scale by 1. 

Chaos Effect

The dream resists the control and creates chaos. Apply an additional d8 Chaos Condition.

Chaos conditions are rolled on a list. The die roll determines the elemental condition that is applied.

9. Shifted
10. Frozen
11. Paralysed
12. Petrified

Order Effect

The target doesn't remember the round. The target doesn't react to being controlled and the hostility scale will not increase.

The Puppeteer makes one of their puppets explode into shards. 

Apply Shattered to a Puppet applying 3 Pained, 3 Hazed and 3 Shaken to everything nearby

The occupant's physical form breaks and is scattered over a large area.

-1 Lucidity. Removed when rounds stop.

-1 Mentality. Removed when rounds stop.

-1 Empathy. Removed when rounds stop.

Chaos Effect

The shards have chaotic energy.

Apply an additional d8

Chaos Condition to those nearby.

Chaos conditions are rolled on a list. The die roll determines the elemental condition that is applied.

Order Effect

The explosion is clean.

The Occupant is Forgotten instead of Shattered.

The occupant vanishes and cannot be recreated or restored.

Rip the physical body away from a Jack or Aura

Apply 3 Dissociated to an adjacent Jack or Aura. This ability is always the last to occur in a round. Using this on the Aura will greatly increase hostility. 

The dream's hostility scale is at 6 or below.

The Jacks movement, attacks, abilities and decisive rolls are made by the GM or at random.

Chaos Effect

The rip sends the target into shock. Apply the Catatonic instead.

Cannot do anything. Stacks. Fades.

Order Effect

The rip is clean and hard to reconnect. Dissociated will not fade until the end of the scene.

The Puppeteer reforms their puppets. 

Remove all conditions from current puppets and reform up to 2 Shattered puppets nearby the puppeteer. 

The occupant's physical form breaks and is scattered over a large area.

Chaos Effect

They didn't quite reform perfectly. Apply a d8

Any Puppet can be returned.

You can return Forgotten puppets or puppets from a previous dream.

The occupant vanishes and cannot be recreated or restored.

Tips for playing as the Puppeteer.

The puppeteer is the most antagonistic of the Jacks but this does not mean they can't be very powerful cooperative party members.

Your second level ability allows you to pull allies out of tricky situations ignoring the stronger restricting conditions. 

Be creative with your puppets at early levels as they can't attach for you but can still get in the way and cause chaos. 

The puppeteer gains extra traits for your occupants which you can find in the GM section under Occupants.
